Back To Normal (Whatever That Is)

Monday, we resumed the story pretty much where it left off. Initially, I was going to build a secondary arc about Cliff's daughter going missing, but with the Adam character starting a romance and Being in the hospital, and the French/Canadian Illuminati about to cause havoc and destruction, I thought it best to keep the number of supplemental threads to a minimum. As it is, the ongoing feud between Melvin Krayfrog and Milo figures into the FCI story, and I have plans for Boritom's homeworld, or at least some citizens thereof, to make an appearance soon. Also, in the FCI thread, some revelations shall come to pass that will introduce other alien species, and start playing up the sci-fi angle a bit more.

All of this aside, I have been doing some thinking on the graphic end. I obviously need to pay more attention to my backgrounds. Using various pics culled from GIS's can be hazardous. People may recognize their photos, even though they're photoshopped beyond recognition in some cases, and decide that I am worth prosecuting, or persecuting. Also, some of them have been so complex as to deter from the foreground art. Most likely, the approach I will take, at least with exteriors (outdoor scenes) is the silhouette approach. That way the eye will not be deluged with details. Many interior "sets" will also be simplified here and there, with the exception of the bridge of Bor's ship. It's a sci-fi set and should have the look of a complex device.

Yes, I'm the type who preferred the classic Trek Enterprise bridge to the sleek, underplayed design of the 1701-D from ST:TNG. What can I say, I like all that beeping and flashing.

I am also going to start actually reading and studying more on drawing technique and form. I know that with practice, I can at least make the strips look cleaner and more consistent. We'll see how it goes.

I am disappointed that, so far, I seem to be talking to myself in here. I have not received any comments at all in this blog, and after 12 posts, you'd think I'd have at least gotten a complaint about droning on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about shit nobody could give a rat's cancerous left testicle about. Still... I shall persevere.
